JUNE 2015 UPDATE

Open Innovation is expanding in advanced manufacturing with announcements by leading automotive OEMs to provide enhanced access to their vast intellectual property positions in vehicle electrification and hydrogen power. Traditional OEM business models are evolving to include services that create a connected personal lifestyle cocoon nurturing efficiency, safety and green environmental impact. Following the admired model of Germany’s Fraunhofer Institutes, the US Government is establishing a National Network of Manufacturing Innovation Institutes; the latest is the Lightweight Innovations for Tomorrow (LIFT) in Detroit’s revitalized Corktown district. The acceleration of innovation is driving societal change and empowering entrepreneurs to enhance our way of living sustainably. AutoHarvest’s members are leaders providing myriad opportunities for upstarts to become game changers. And, some old dogs are teaching new tricks too.

Every month our I-Hub members provide interesting research, compelling blog entries and video presentations explaining current issues, transaction methods and innovation thinking. We continue to add new events to our 2015 roster of conference partners who gather top thought leaders to regional innovation hotspots to share deep dives on technology and spark commercialization relationships.
