As the neural net of intellectual property, innovation, as well as commercialization opportunities grow exponentially, it seems like the qualification and due diligence processes might need a boost in efficiency. This month, an overseas CEO making the “rounds” in Detroit through competitions and pitches told me he has made 200 presentations over the last 2 years—on the one hand, it is wonderful that so many qualified partners heard the startup’s story, but on the other hand, it seems excessive to require a CEO to become a full-time showman, perhaps sapping time better spent building their business.
This month’s featured members are software experts who are bringing novel software defined functionality into vehicles, enabling autonomy, ride-sharing and smart connected mini vehicles—optimizing the rolling stock through coding and telematics rather than fuel-related m.p.g. factors.
